Tasks:

Design, implement and maintain robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services like Glue, Lambda, Step Functions and EMR.
Architect and manage data lakes, data warehouses and streaming pipelines using S3, Redshift, Kinesis, Athena and related services.
Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Implement and enforce data security, access control, encryption and compliance policies.
Ensure data quality through validation, testing frameworks and data observability practices.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.
Lead code reviews, design discussions and promote engineering best practices.
Guide the team in adopting modern data engineering tools, frameworks and automation practices.
Work closely with data science, analytics, product, and engineering teams to understand data needs and deliver high-quality datasets and infrastructure.
Support business intelligence initiatives by enabling efficient data access and integration.

5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in cloud-native AWS data solutions.
Expert knowledge of SQL and Python for data processing and transformation.
Strong experience with AWS services: S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Kinesis, Athena, Step Functions, EMR, CloudWatch.
Proficient in data modeling schemas, partitioning and performance tuning.
Experience with orchestration tools.
Solid understanding of data security, governance and privacy regulations.
